Argonaut Hotel - Haslett Warehouse & Maritime National Historic Visitor Center

495 Jefferson Street, San Francisco

The construction of the Argonaut Hotel and San Francisco Maritime Visitor Center involved the historic renovation of the Haslett Warehouse located at Fisherman’s Wharf. This four-story unreinforced masonry and heavy timber warehouse was structurally reinforced and built out into a boutique hotel and maritime museum with commercial areas. Activities included masonry restoration and a new foundation system with pipe piles, tie downs, footings, and slab-on-grade.

"The public/private partnership with the Kimpton Group broke new ground for use. The new Argonaut Hotel and National Park Service Visitor Center serve as models of how the public and private sector can work together for the benefit of all. ...The building is a wonderful example of the adaptive reuse of historic structures. We fully recognize that Cahill Contractor’s commitment to excellence plus the ingenuity, courage, and skill of your key people are all a big part of the success of this project."
