Oxford Plaza / David Brower Center

2150 Allston Way (DBC) & 2200 Oxford St., Berkeley (OP)

Concurrent construction of a 4-story concrete office building (David Brower Center) and adjoining 6-story affordable housing/ parking/ retail building (Oxford Plaza), both on top of a new underground city parking garage. The basement city garage for public parking has 99 stalls; additionally, the ground floor Oxford Plaza parking garage for residents has 40 stalls using a puzzle lift system. The building includes a unique vertical post-tension system for seismic resistance. The David Brower Center received a LEED Platinum certification by using green features including photovoltaic panels, radiant heating and cooling concrete slabs, stormwater collection and reuse, and a raised floor system for ventilation.
