University of San Francisco John Lo Schiavo, S.J. Center for Science and Innovation

2455 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco

Construction of a new state-of-the-art science building (laboratories and classrooms) located in the center of the USF main campus, immediately adjacent to two existing buildings. Scope included the excavation of two basement levels in serpentinite rock, installation of a landscaped plaza roof, and an above-grade 3 story wing. Classrooms include chemistry wet-labs with fume hoods, physics labs, lecture halls, computer labs, and community spaces. The building is aiming to be LEED New Construction Gold.

"Working with Cahill ...has been among my most pleasing experiences. Cahill demonstrated throughout the project that they were cooperative and readily willing to collaborate with all team members to solve any and all issues as they arose as well as working pro-actively to identify issues before they arose. Cahill worked diligently to bring the project back on schedule when unforeseen site conditions during excavation created significant delays to the critical path.
