Washington Hospital Healthcare System - Radiology & Cath Lab Remodel
This OSHPD 1 project at Washington Hospital involved remodeling an existing occupied radiology department and constructing new cath and CT labs within the busiest part of the hospital. Adjacent to the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit and surgery corridor, the jobsite had patients crossing at all times and Cahill undertook extensive efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment throughout construction.
The project included hard and soft demolition, hazardous material abatement, structural concrete, repair of concrete, framing and drywall of new wall configurations, rating upgrades to existing walls that remain, finishes, MEP trades installing new systems, and associated roofing as required. Cahill built infectious control tunnels to isolate the patient areas from corridor walls and ceilings where repairs occurred. Additionally, new foundations and shotcrete walls were placed on the floor below the main project, new rooftop equipment was added, and the roof above the radiology department was replaced.
